On 2 June 2020, we will host 20 photographers for an exclusive opportunity to explore behind-the-scenes of the world’s largest particle physics laboratory. CERN is teaming up with major science laboratories for an international photography competition: the Global Physics Photowalk.

During the competition at CERN, entitled the “CERN Photowalk 2020: Around the LHC”, the laboratory will open the doors of four unique underground spaces. The photographers will get to explore the Large Hadron Collider’s main experiments and the underground marvels of the lab.

The best photos will be chosen by a local jury and a public vote. Each laboratory will also choose three photos to be entered for the international competition, which will run in July. The overall international winning photos will be selected by a jury and a public vote and will have the opportunity to be featured in the CERN Courier and in Symmetry magazine.

Applications for the CERN Photowalk are open until 22 March 2020, 23:59:00 CET.
